Turn Your Blog RSS Into a Personal Magazine (RSS document)

November 3rd, 2008

Tabbloid is a very good and interesting service to turn your own blog RSS (or any other of your favourite blogs RSS) into a personal magazine. Exactly speaking, it’s a sample service to turn your blog RSS into Adobe PDF document, so that your readers can read your blog in any PDF reader. Your blog is published another way, this is how we call it a “personal magazine”.

Bill Gates recommends Ubuntu

October 27th, 2008

Well, when I was browsing my photo album I found this fake Ubuntu ads by Bill Gates, which was uploaded 2 years ago. When at that time, I installed Ubuntu 6.06 in my hardisk with Windows XP in my office computer. It’s for me for the 1st time to try Linux in the real sense.

While now, although Bill Gates recommended Ubuntu, I prefer Fedora much more… and will not switch back to Ubuntu, never!

WordPress updated to 2.6.3

October 24th, 2008

A vulnerability in the Snoopy library was announced today.  WordPress uses Snoopy to fetch the feeds shown in the Dashboard.   Although this seems to be a low risk vulnerability for WordPress users, we wanted to get an update out immediately.  2.6.3 is available for download right now.  If you don’t want to download the whole release to get the security fix, you can download the following two files and copy them over your 2.6.2 installation.

  1. wp-includes/class-snoopy.php
  2. wp-includes/version.php

This is a security update, althought it’s not yet so high risk, and I just downloaded the latest release, and uploaded&replaced these two files in wp-includes directory for all my wordpress-based blogs.

Charles’ Readers Community

October 21st, 2008

I am so happy to announce the luanch of my new forum Charles’ Readers Community for all my blog readers. This community is a forum based on bbPress. bbPress is a very good forum software with a twist from the creators of WordPress. It’s very ease of use, ease of integration, and speed. What’s most import is that it’s very light-weighted and powerful enough with add on features through its extensive plugin system.

Just because it has so many features to meet my requirements, and, it’s also a work of WordPress developer team, it can be easily intergrated with my WordPress blog, it became my readers’ community software.
