How I wish I was majored in computer or Linux, but I didn't, I really don't know how SELinux works, and what important role it plays in the system, I disabled it, but my system works fine. I think I'd better learn more about Fedora, but it's easy to use enough as my desktop

I'm sorry but I know nothing about SELinux, I changed a little of this article. I hope it's fine now... I'm really sorry and I hope you understand as I've sent you an email explaining this. Thanks.

> For common Fedora users, SELinux is not necessary

selinux is especially *useful* for Fedora users since it prevents their box being rooted when a security hole is discovered.

If you are targetting Fedora as a platform, you need to make your software work on it. Telling people to turn it off because it "isn't needed" is simply not true.

I've made changes as you told above but with much more than that. I'm so sorry to James, please help me and tell him, and I hope him understand. (Pagico conflicts with SELinux, so we'd better (and TualariX suggested me) disable SELinux before starting this software. I'm just a common user, I know nothing about it, I disabled SELinux when upgraded to Fedora 10 as most Fedora tutorial told me, but my system works fine. So I think SELinux is "useless" as if it's enabled, it cause me troubles sometimes)

Charles, instead of the big scary, red note added at the top you could have put something like "Pagico is a strong and powerfull personal information manager, it’s not only a GTD tool, but also an organizer with all your amazing ideas which is available as closed source (or proprietary) software." Well, I personally saw the website is .com and expected so from the start.

And BTW, James is not "someone", he is practically SELinux in Fedora.

Please stop telling people to disable SELinux. It performs an important role in containing security vulnerabilities in services, and has been well documented in doing so for standard users.

See this LinuxWorld article, for example:
http://www.linuxworld.com/news/2008/022408-selinux.html

What I suggest if encountering problems, is to send the log messages to the fedora-selinux list, and rather than disabling SELinux entirely, set it to run in permissive mode. This will allow SELinux to be put back into enforcing mode without a fs relabel, and still log suspicious activity.

Why do you promote non-free software on Planet Fedora??? Please stop that or at least put non-free in the title and mention the non-freeness in the first paragraph. It is a pain to read through the whole article and find out it is crappy non-free binary blob shit just at the very end.

TualariX said the SELinux is so powerful that it will prevent Pacigo files linking when starting the software. So it must be disabled. For common Fedora users, SELinux is not necessary too, and it's very troublesome sometimes... I disabled it after Fedora 10 was installed.

If it require to disable SELinux, then it does not run "perfectly" (maybe "well" or something)
